Sanford Area Society of Shaggers (SASS) is a nonprofit organization based in Sanford, North Carolina. It’s primary function is to promote activities which are associated with shag music and dance. SASS is a member of the ACSC (Association of Carolina Shag Clubs) and have 96 current members.
SASS is a very people and community oriented club, participating in many local events and fundraisers for local Sanford and Lee County charities as well as a National Sponsor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
We invite you to view our pages and get to know our club better. We hope you find our web site is informative and fun and visit often. We update on a regular basis.
We also invite you to attend our board meetings. Dates for these are shown on our calendar page. The Sanford American Legion generously allows us to hold our board meetings the Tuesday night before our social, which begin at 7:00 PM. The great folks at the V.F.W. allow us to hold our short meetings at 8:00 PM followed by our social, typically on the 3rd Friday night. You are cordially invited to attend our socials and events.
NOTE: Our meeting place, the VFW, is non-smoking. Please come enjoy us in this smoke-free environment!
